Nigerian Army nabs 60-year-old woman, others found in possession of hard substances

– A 60-year-old woman and other suspects, have been arrested by troops of the 145 Battalion in Umuahia, after they were found to be in possession of hard substances

– The operation was carried out based on intelligence reports, and in conjunction with officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency

– The substances and suspects have been handed over to the NDLEA for investigation and prosecution.

Troops of the 145 Battalion (R) have conducted a successful raid on some hard drug spots in Umuahia, Abia state, leading to the arrest of suspects, including a 60-year-old woman.

The development was made public via a statement which was signed by Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 14 Brigade, Nigerian Army.

NAIJ.com gathers that the Army conducted the operation together with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Saturday, 11 November 2017.

The joint operation was conducted based on intelligence reports; and substances suspected to be cocaine and marijuana were also recovered.

Gbadamosi further disclosed that the substances and suspects have been handed over to the NDLEA for investigation and prosecution.
