Today’s Gossip: United Plot £30m Meunier; Blues Want Immobile

Jose Mourinho will bid £30million for a right-back in January as City continue to keep tabs on Sanchez, all in today’s papers.
City Ready To Wait For Sanchez

Manchester City will wait until next summer to sign Alexis Sanchez, rather than push ahead with a January raid, reports the Mirror.

Pep Guardiola made a late £60 million move in the last transfer window for the Chilean, but Arsenal rejected a potential sale without securing a replacement.
Both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain were keen on the 28-year-old, with a move to the continent — and not a Premier League rival — the Gunners’ preference. But Sanchez demanded £500,000 per week to deliberately price himself out of a move in order to push through a transfer to the Etihad.
Now it appears as if Arsenal will be left without any compensation for the former Barcelona star and that Guardiola will bring in yet another attacking superstar to compliment an attack averaging 3.5 goals per game in the Premier League.
Everton Plot Ambitious Sanchez Move

While City may be ready to wait, Everton have emerged as a shock suitor for Sanchez, according to the Sun

Farhad Moshiri is looking to make a move to illustrate his ambition for the Toffees and a £30m offer could tempt the Gunners.
Failed moves for Olivier Giroud and Diego Costa have not deterred the Everton owner with Ronald Koeman already insisting his failure was due to not acquiring a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
Mascherano Aiming For MLS In 2018

Barcelona star Javier Mascherano is looking to move to a MLS club in 2018, reports Sport

The Argentinian’s contract ends in 2019, but a move at the end of the current season looks probable.
A new adventure to wind down his career is in the former Liverpool star’s thinking after the culmination of Argentina’s World Cup campaign in Russia.
Mascherano has reportedly informed the Blaugrana that he does not want a move to Qatar or China and that a move to the States is now a priority.
Coutinho Not Interested In PSG Move

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Philippe Coutinho has rebuffed Paris Saint-Germain’s advances as he remains determined to join Barcelona in January.

The Catalan giants have found it tough going in their negotiations with Liverpool, leading to reports that PSG are plotting to muscle in on the deal.
But Coutinho has told the Ligue 1 leaders that his heart is set on a move to the Nou Camp, with Barcelona preparing to sell up to five players to fund the £132 million transfer.
Thomas Vermaelen, Aleix Vidal, Paco Alcacer, Arda Turan and rumoured Tottenham target Andre Gomes lead Ernesto Valverde’s list of surplus players as Barca gear up for a busy winter window.
Real Madrid Eye Ronaldo Replacement

Real Madrid have prepared a three-man shortlist to replace Cristiano Ronaldo should the Portuguese star leave the Bernabeu over his latest contract dispute, reports the Daily Mirror.

With Ronaldo asking for more money again, club president Florentino Perez has decided to look to the future, with three “rough diamonds” leading his list of targets.
The three players in question are PSG’s Gonçalo Guedes, who is currently impressing on loan at Valencia, Gremio midfielder Lincoln, and 17-year-old Palmeiras prospect Alan Souza.
Paulo Dybala is another option for Real but will probably command a huge fee should he leave Juventus next summer.
Liverpool Plot Palmieri Swoop

Liverpool are finally planning to strengthen their leaky defence with the addition of Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, reports Calciomercato.

The 23-year-old Brazilian will cost in the region of £22m after helping Roma finish second in Serie A last season.
Palmieri has been sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury since May, and it will likely take him time to get up to speed once he has resumed full training.
It’s thought that hasn’t perturbed Liverpool, however, with doubts over Alberto Moreno’s long-term future at Anfield.
Chelsea Want Immobile

Chelsea are eyeing a big-money move for Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, claims The Sun.

The Italy international has been in blistering form this season, scoring 13 goals in just 10 Serie A matches so far.
That has prompted Lazio president Claudio Lotito to slap a £53m price tag on Immobile’s head, but Chelsea are likely to offer players in part-exchange.
It’s thought a move for the 27-year-old, who could prove the perfect foil for Alvaro Morata, will go some way in repairing the Blues’ strained relationship with boss Antonio Conte.
United Target Meunier

Jose Mourinho is lining up a £30million January move for Belgium full-back Thomas Meunier, according to a report.

The 26-year-old is second choice right-back at Paris Saint-Germain and is understood to be concerned at his first-team prospects. Dani Alves is the preferred right-back at PSG and even though Meunier and Alves have both made six Ligue 1 starts, Meunier is believed to be worried over his World Cup prospects.
The Daily Express reports Mourinho will try and sign the player in January – a player he has been tracking since last summer – and Meunier is open to a fresh challenge to get him back in the thoughts of Belgium boss Roberto Martinez.
Meunier is under contract at PSG until 2020, but they are likely to be open to selling the player after investing in  Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the summer.
