HMD Global has unveiled its new mid-end smartphone — Nokia 7 in the Chinese market.
A home to Nokia, HMD Global has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone in China. The Nokia 7 is the first Android smartphone from the brand to sport a glass back — a vacuum-moulded 3D Corning Gorilla Glass construction, an aerospace-grade 7000 Series aluminium frame with diamond-cut beveled edges. The Nokia 7 is priced at CNY 2,499 in China (approx Rs 24,999) and is slated to go on sale from October 24.

The Nokia 7, is touted to come with flagship features at roughly half the price of Nokia 8. It features a 5.2-inch 2.5D IPS LCD display panel with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor coupled with 4GB and 6GB RAM options and 64GB storage, expandable up to 128GB.

As for the cameras, the Nokia 7 sports a 16MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture lens and a dual tone LED flash. A 5MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 is available for selfies. However, the smartphone supports 'Bothie,' — a feature which can use both front and rear cameras simultaneously in the same frame. Additionally, the device offers a dual SIM slot with 4G LTE and VoLTE capability on either SIMS.

On the connectivity front, it comes with the latest Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, a 3.5mm headset jack, GPS, USB Type-C port and also supports NFC. The Nokia 7 is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery with support for 18W fast charging. The 7 runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat and Nokia promises to update the same with timely updates. Lastly, the smartphone comes in two colour variants — Gloss Black and Matte White.
